Serravalle Designer Outlet: Europe’s Largest Luxury Shopping Destination

Serravalle Designer Outlet 25th anniversary

On September 7, 2000, Serravalle Designer Outlet opened its doors as the first outlet of its kind in Italy. Twenty-five years later, it stands as the largest Designer Outlet in Europe, attracting millions of visitors each year who come for world-class shopping, exclusive brands, and an atmosphere that blends Italian style with international flair.

Over the years, Serravalle has grown beyond its original retail footprint, becoming a lifestyle destination that connects strongly with its territory and nearby Milan. In addition to hosting flagship luxury boutiques, the outlet has introduced cultural initiatives like The District of Joy music festival, dedicated to inclusion and diversity, highlighting its role as a cultural as well as commercial hub.

To mark its 25th anniversary, Serravalle unveiled a striking photography exhibition curated by renowned photographer Toni Thorimbert. Running from September through late October 2025, the exhibition features 25 portraits of icons from film, music, sports, and the arts—capturing the evolution of style and fashion over the past quarter-century.

This milestone is not only a celebration of fashion but also of economic growth. As international tourists increasingly combine their visits to Milan, Lake Como, or Piedmont with luxury shopping at Serravalle, the outlet has reinforced Italy’s global positioning in the luxury and lifestyle market.
